| The lofty peaks of the Grand Tetons - blue, gray pyramids of 2 1/2 billion year old rock, glacier carved and still glacier spotted soar more than a mile above the sagebrush flats and morainal lakes of Jackson Hole. The majestic peaks, mountain lakes, wild canyons, extensive forest, and Snake River make up an exceptional wildlife sanctuary for a wide variety of animals and birds. The phantasmagoric profusion of color from early spring to late fall is enough reason to call Jackson Hole the valley of flowers. For sheer magnificence you'd have to travel far and wide to match the splendor of the Tetons. |
